Preppy Clothing Sales
I went to the mall the day before yesterday to get new Ipod headphones and as I was walking past all the stores I saw that nearly every one was having a sale. Express, Banana Republic, Gap, Am
erican Eagle to name just a few. I picked up this shirt at Express just because everything was on sale.
Does anyone know why everything is on sale right now? I mean it was like a Tuesday at the beginning of summer. I guess they were just trying to make room for new summer stuff, but I assumed they did that earlier, like in the Spring…

the economy is bad, and its effecting the sales of high-end clothing stores
I would think that they are trying to make room for fall clothes which usually go on sale around August when kids are on there way back to school. Keep up the good posts dude!

Hmmm Late June still seems early for clearing for Fall clothes. I guess it could be just Father’s day leftovers being put on sale or something like that.
the sales are annual, they happen every year at this time to make-way for the back to school collections which hit stores shortly after the 4th.
non of those stores are “preppy” though. maybe banana if you squint. but even then…
its not ur annual sale, ralph lauren has been having a sale since like december, i am telling u buisness is rly bad now…

as someone who has had a foot in retail for over 5 years now, i can assure you that sales are always held at this time to get rid of summer merchandise to make way for fall lines. the sales this year are a nit larger than years previous (due to poor business) they are not being held because of it.
Really? You can’t figure that out? It’s because all the stores are getting rid of their summer collection to make room for their fall collection!
